Purchase Your Hardware

Ocean Tablet users:

Ocean Tablets require a wifi-connected Android device (5.0 or higher). You can read our recommendations in the article "What tablet should I buy? ".

Ocean Kiosk users:

Ocean Kiosk stands and peripheral hardware can be ordered directly from CognisantMD from the Ocean Kiosks page. Kiosks also require a supported Android Tablet (Samsung Galaxy E 9.6″ or Samsung Galaxy A 10.1″).

All Accuro users and new Telus API users:

To connect your EMR to Ocean, you will need a dedicated Android device with the OceanConnect app installed. This device will not be subject to any licence fees. You can learn more about OceanConnect devices (including purchase recommendations) in the support article Understanding OceanConnect.

Set Up Your Ocean Products

Depending on which Ocean products you are using, additional configuration may be required.

Ocean Tablets

If you are using Tablets with your patients, you will need an Android tablet that is connected to Wi-Fi to get started. It generally takes 10-20 minutes to complete setup.

Ocean Check-In Kiosk

With the Ocean Kiosk, patients can now swipe their health card at a kiosk stand in order to check in, review and update their demographics, complete forms and even change their status to “arrived” in your EMR.

To get started using the Ocean Kiosk, you will need to order all of your kiosk hardware, including the kiosk stand, the kiosk tablet, and a few small peripheral items.

Ocean Online Messages

Ocean Online provides a secure way to let patients register, provide a history, and update their health record before they even arrive at your clinic.

To get started using Ocean Online Messages, you will need your own Ocean account (i.e. your own login credentials).

With Ocean eRequests, you can make your Ocean eForms available for patients to complete online. This will allow you to offer everything from new patient intake to prescription renewals and appointment requests, all from your existing website.

To get started with eRequests, you will need the Ocean eForm that you would like to be publicly available for your patients.
