We currently support eRequest imports for TELUS PS Suite and OSCAR. If you are not using either of these EMRs, many clinics still use eRequests without an EMR integration, as you also have the option to export eRequests to a spreadsheet or as a PDF at any time.
If you are using PS Suite or OSCAR:
To import an eRequest, you'll first want to make sure you are using a version of the Ocean Toolbar with an "Import" button. If your toolbar doesn't include this button, grab the Ocean toolbar from our Ocean Library (for PS Suite) or from our OSCAR Setup Guide.
Back in the Ocean portal, open the eRequest tab and find the eRequest you want to import. It will normally be in the "New" folder.
Open the eRequest you want to import and click "Accept".
It will show a (usually 3-digit) patient reference number:
On the toolbar in PS Suite or OSCAR, click "Import" and enter this number. The demographic updates will be applied and the eRequest note will be imported as a progress note by Ocean.
If you are using Accuro or another EMR:
Log in to the Ocean portal, open the eRequest tab and find the eRequest you want to import. It will normally be in the "New" folder, so you can open it and click "Accept". Once you have done this, you will be provided with the option to download the eRequest. You can right click the download link and save the PDF to a folder of your choice. From here you can import your newly downloaded file into Accuro and several other EMRs.
