We are currently beta testing the ability to swipe health cards using tablets. If you would like to implement this exciting feature, simply purchase the MagTek card reader model #21073145 (some MagTek readers have a level of encryption that limits their use to credit cards, so make sure you get this make and model). If you are in Canada, it's about $70 and you can order it from TigerDirect here. Note that you will also likely need a USB adapter cable like this one, although depending on whether your tablet has DC power in, you might need a USB adapter cable that can charge your tablet as well as connect to the reader.
Once you have received your card reader, plug it into the tablet. If you are an Accuro user, you are ready to go!
If you are a Telus PSS user, you will need to download our Ocean Connect toolbar (currently in beta). Please visit https://cognisantmd.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/226328167-How-do-I-connect-the-Ocean-Connect-Toolbar-for-PSS- for more information.
We hope that you enjoy this new feature. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
